software in current use is stolen. Software piracy causes significant lost revenue for publishers, which in turn results in higher prices for the consumer.
To protect the rights of software publishers, publishers have to employ the use of legal protection through user agreements, product keys, tamperproofing,
and watermarking; but most importantly, us consumers have to create a culture where piracy is not encouraged.
